My take on Dr. Sutton is that he is currently in a place where he can't learn anything else, that the Lord has given him the insight to what he needs to know and that is all that there is.

 

This guy wasn't my style of teacher but he did have a good message. He has the 4 syllable pronunciation for 2 syllable words thing going on and likes to yell a lot. He also has a tendency to talk down to people with things like "I taught you" rather than "I shared my thoughts with you". The "I taught you" is quite popular in his vernacular. Just a thing with me, I guess. I like a more humble approach and believe that people don't realize how their attitude can affect their message.

Dr. Sutton did a 10 minute dissertation on how no one can learn from new Christians and that he therefore dismisses them until they have walked with the Lord for at least 30 years. I quote "When they try to tell me something, I tell them to sit down and shut up and maybe you'll learn something from me".

He doesn't believe that "newbies" have any valuable input and obviously dismisses the idea that the Lord can impart knowledge to those whom He chooses.

New Christians tend to want to study prophecy first. His take on it? LET THEM!! He exhorted the church leadership to encourage prophetic study and quit trying to quash it.

Interestingly, he believes that there is to be some great revival before the rapture and that over half of the world is going to be raptured because of it. I don't find his teachings my Bible. I don't know where he was going with them, but he believes them very strongly.
