What should Christians be doing?

A true Believer in Christ

We should be in God’s holy Word to start. Ephesians: 10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age,[a] against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—19 and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.”

I will not in this study mentioned Religions by name because I know there are True Believers in all Christian faiths even thou many Religions proclaim some false doctrine most at there core hold faith in Christ for there salvation so my audience is the Body of Christ. These ten lines of scripture will serve as our outline for what Christians should be doing. What kind of Christian are you?

Cultural Christian, cultural identity with the name and/or hold a Christian set of moral values but never really had a salvation encounter with our Lord Jesus Chris, this type are disengaged and very hard to witness too.  For many Cultural Christian’s they can’t even believe that God exist they are completely apart of the secular system. As they grow older they leave the Christian faith for earthly philosophical higher level of human existence. For example; environmental concerns like global warming, securing survival of all living creatures’ weather it be good or bad etc. they cannot serve two masters. The concept of God is just not real if they can’t see, hear, touch or smell what God is about, it will have no relevance in there life. Nature gives those kinds of people signs and wonders which makes it so much easier to believe in. Also to understand how a God could allow so many problems to exist is unconceivable it is just more self gratifying to serve the needs of the earth as there one true faith. Only after they fail and suffer great loss do they begin to look for a higher power, believing Christians must seize that opening and sow the seeds of salvation at that moment.

Counterfeit Christian, similar to cultural but different in that they want people to think they are a true Believer, very much a doubting Thomas can not reach spiritual level of belief, but wishes they could, this type much easier to witness to because they are socially engaged with believers. True believing Christian, has a personal relationship with the Holy Trinity (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) and is actively watching for the soon return of our Lord and King Jesus Christ. Counterfeit Christian’s need to stop pretending and understand that your salvation is at risk, read the Bible it will make you strong in the Lord you need to embrace this one plain truth that we are saved by God's grace through faith (believing and trusting) in Jesus, God's Savior. Not by works. Start right hear with the scriptures that are to follow.

 Galatians:16 knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified.”

Abraham was saved because he believed God. Noah was saved because he believed God. The thief on the cross was saved by asking the Lord to remember him when He came into His kingdom - showing that He believed Jesus was the promised one sent by God. All the apostles were saved by believing that Jesus was the Messiah and Son of God. All in the book of Acts were saved by hearing and believing that Jesus was the risen Christ.

As you keep reading you will see more confirmation in the scriptures of faith in Jesus Christ being the only requirement for salvation. If you have not gone down this path and have the courage to continue it will change your life forever! By reading the scriptures that are to follow you will open the door for the Holy Spirit to enter in and reveal to you your sinful nature. For the first time you will see yourself thru God’s eyes. To read the Word of God that reveals to you that God cannot accept you the way you are. You must be changed! This revelation can be an emotional unhinging experience that should place you at the center of God’s Will.

John 20:30-31 30 And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book; 31 but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.

Acts 16:30-31 30 And he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”
31 So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.”

Romans 3:22 22 even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all[a] who believe. For there is no difference;

Romans 10:9 9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

1 Corinthians 1:20-21 20 Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? 21 For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.

2 Corinthians 4:3-4 3 But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, 4 whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.

Galatians 3:22 22 But the Scripture has confined all under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.

1 Thessalonians 2:13 13 For this reason we also thank God without ceasing, because when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you welcomed it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which also effectively works in you who believe.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-14 13 But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus.

1Timothy 1:15-16 15 This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief. 16 However, for this reason I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show all longsuffering, as a pattern to those who are going to believe on Him for everlasting life.

Hebrews 10:39 38 Now the[a]just shall live by faith; But if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him.”[b]39 But we are not of those who draw back to perdition, but of those who believe to the saving of the soul.

1John 3:23 22 And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight. 23 And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us[a] commandment.

1John 5:13 13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life,[a] and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.

For Cultural Christian and Counterfeit Christian this is only a sampling of scripture do not fight the feeling that is over taking you let it happen. Your very salvation is within your grasp; begin pouring your heart mind and soul into the Word of God until you are “strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.” You do not have to believe me search for yourselves.

True believing Christian understands this message with a sober clarity. Those words above are the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.”

You should be making wherever you are a mission field sowing the seeds of salvation to all those who call themselves Christians by name but are week in the faith. Remember a seed is small so the message should be simple and to the point. There are 24 lines of scripture above proclaiming faith in Jesus Christ each one is a seed pick one find fertile soil plant it and water it with the Holy Spirit. For it is by the Holy Spirit that the message will take hold in the unbeliever not solely by your works! Want nothing for yourselves; no praise, no acknowledgment, for that leads to pride the tool satin will use to deflect the seeds you sow to fall on rocky ground.

12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age,[a] against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.”

Jesus declared John the Baptist the greatest man ever born of woman. We can all agree that John’s works were purely God’s will. He had no help, no rewards, and no way of knowing how effective he was. Even two of the disciples that followed John left to follow Jesus. At that moment his work for God was complete. He was not able to walk with Christ nor could he continue to spread the message. He was thrown into prison never to be heard again. While in prison even John began to doubt. He sent a disciple to ask Jesus if he was the one prophesied or if there was another yet to come. He received the response he needed to hear and his faith was restored. John could not have a life that we have and tend to take for granted. Once his work was done God lifted his divine protection off of him and the evil of this world took his life. When we are at the center of God’s will we are all protected until the job that He has set aside for us is complete. Do not be left at the mercy of this world it will take the flesh but not you soul.

13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.”

All believing Christians at some time have had close calls with serious injury or death many of these stories are never told and are kept to themselves for fear of people close to them not believing. Fear not; take joy in this world that God has created, love your family and your fellow Christian Brother and Sisters; be of this world but not apart of it; ready to leave it at a moments notice to be with the lord by Rapture or by death.

“14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.” 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;

 Now that we are empowered with the Word of God we must take advantage of every form of communication that exists today to sow the seeds of salvation. In our home, Churches, clubs, workplace and thru our participation on the internet we must get thru to people that God is real. You have heard it said that this is the final generation that time is short, I believe this as well! You have also heard it said that we are running out of time to reach all those that need to be saved this is not true in my opinion. God has a plan and he nose all those that need to be saved. When we are at the center of God’s Will He will give us the time and the means to reach those he has selected for us to witness too. When we are doing God’s Work our concept of time is irrelevant. Trust in the power of the Lord he alone with the Father in heaven control the timeline.

 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—19 and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.”

 May God bless you all and keep you strong in the Faith.
